Established in 2016, HERhealthEQ was born out of a need to reduce the equity gap in access to healthcare for women around the world. What began as a singular donation of a mammogram machine to a Costa Rican hospital, has now grown into an international web of healthcare solutions.

Deployed 10 portable Butterly-IQ ultrasound probes in Lagos, Nigeria. HERhealthEQ partnered with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDG) Office Nigeria, the Permanent Secretary, the Ministry of Health and local advisors on this project. Both public and private hospitals received the devices.
HERhealthEQ is expanding this program to include 20 new probes by the end of 2026.

HERhealthEQ partnered with Hologic, placing mammography machine with a remote hospital in Costa Rica. Metrics show a 400% increase in mammograms performed in the Limón region, with 18,000+ women in Costa Rica screened using this equipment. In 2023, we returned to place 10 colposcopes in the Coronado system, screening 10,000+ women since inception.
Burkina Faso

In partnership with Jhpiego International, MedGyn and the Kimi Foundation, HERhealthEQ delivered two pieces of equipment into the Department of Gynecology and Obstetrics of the Centre Hospitalier Universitaire (CHU, University Hospital Center) of Bogodogo in Ouagadougou, Burkina Faso; One video Colposcopy device and one Cryotherapy unit.
The colposcope is used to detect precancerous cervical lesions, enabling local women to be treated early thus optimizing their treatment efficacy. Over 3K women have been screened since implementation.

In partnership with Lutech Medical and Ages Ltd., HERhealthEQ donated 10 LT-300 colposcopes to public hospitals in rural Ghana. Over 7000 women were able to participate in cervical cancer screenings in the first few months of use.
HERhealthEQ is expanding this program to target breast cancer by the end of 2026.
Jamaica
Condition: Maternal Health & Cervical Cancer

HERhealthEQ partnered with Esaote North America to deploy an ultrasound machine. As of 2019 the hospital is conducting an average of 2000 deliveries/year, with 105 OBGYN and 19 non-OB ultrasounds conducted. The Hospital is now assisting 20 external healthcare centers, assisting women planning to have home births with prenatal screening. HERhealthEQ also facilitated the donation of a fetal monitor to the same healthcare system.
Through 2017 and 2018, HERHealthEQ also partnered with Lutech Medical to place a colposcope in the Savanna-la-Mar Public General Hospital, a Jamaican hospital that serves a population of over 150,000 patients, received the equipment. Despite serving a vast portion of Western Jamaica, including the 20 local primary care health centers that feed into the hospital, the hospital lacks many of the necessary resources to treat such a large population.

HERhealthEQ partnered with CureCervicalCancer (CCC) to deliver 3 thermal ablation devices to the Hue province of rural Vietnam in August 2019 to 3 individual clinics. The thermoablation devices assist in the treatment of early stage cervical cancer.
mexico

10 portable ultrasounds have been deployed in and around the Guadalajara region of Mexico. These critical maternal health devices will be distributed to public health clinics in the region. We partnered with Cluster Medico Jalisco, local doctors and healthcare practitioners to identify sites that would best benefit from these devices. We aim to impact over 100 women per site, per month, once fully executed
HERhealthEQ is expanding this program to include 5-15 additional probes by the end of 2027.
Tanzania
Condition: Maternal Health & Cervical Cancer

HERhealthEQ donated equipment to detect and treat cervical cancer in 5 major geographic areas in Tanzania - Kilimanjaro, Tanga, Singida, Mwanza, and Kigoma - addressing the country’s 38% rate of cervical cancer. HERhealthEQ partnered with MedGyn Products, Inc. and Tanzanian company, SkyConnect to donate the equipment, and cervical cancer screening platform, SEVIA. In January 2022, HERhealthEQ launched a second project, deploying two Lutech Colposcopes and two Wisap Thermoablation devices. The WAJAMAMA Clinic in Zanzibar, Tanzania, will be able to screen and treat 250 women per quarter. Nearly 1K women have been impacted by these projects so far.

HERhealthEQ has partnered with various projects of extended impact, including the deployment of a Lutech Fetal monitor to Plan A Health, a rural organization based in Mississippi, USA. Additionally, 3 boxes of excess medical supplies were donated to support the relief effort at the main hospital of Kharkiv, Ukraine. This was made possible with our partners at Association Lyon-Ukraine, Henry Schein and UPS. We also partnered with Advocates for World Health to deploy more excess medical supplies around the world.
