COlposcopes | 10-for-10 project

In partnership with Lutech Medical, we are deploying 100 colposcopes for cervical cancer detection across 10 countries, including Costa Rica, Egypt, Fiji, Ghana, Lebanon, Mexico, Romania, South Africa, Zambia, and more. Our first deployment in Costa Rica, has screened a total of just under 7,000 women in the first 10 months, with a projected 500,000 women per year to be screened once fully deployed. This project is currently accepting donations to fund 8 more countries.

Tanzania

Colposcopes, mobile screening & cryoabltation

HERhealthEQ donated equipment to detect and treat cervical cancer in 5 major geographic areas in Tanzania - Kilimanjaro, Tanga, Singida, Mwanza, and Kigoma - addressing the country’s 38% rate of cervical cancer. HERhealthEQ partnered with MedGyn Products, Inc. and Tanzanian company, SkyConnect to donate cyroablation equipment, and cervical cancer screening platform, SEVIA, that leverages mobile health for real-time cervical cancer screening.

In January 2022, HERhealthEQ launched a second project, deploying two Lutech Colposcopes and two Wisap Thermoablation devices. The WAJAMAMA Clinic in Zanzibar, Tanzania, will be able to screen and treat 250 women per quarter. Nearly 1K women have been impacted by these projects so far.

Jamaica

Colposcope

Through 2017 and 2018, HERHealthEQ partnered with Lutech Medical to secure the donation of a colposcope.

The Savanna-la-Mar Public General Hospital, a Jamaican hospital that serves a population of over 150,000 patients, received the equipment. Despite serving a vast portion of Western Jamaica, including the 20 local primary care health centers that feed into the hospital, the hospital lacks many of the necessary resources to treat such a large population. To date, the colposcope has been used to screen over 5,306 women in Jamaica.

Burkina Faso

Colposcope

In partnership with Jhpiego International, MedGyn and the Kimi Foundation, HERhealthEQ delivered two pieces of equipment into the Department of Gynecology and Obstetrics of the Centre Hospitalier Universitaire (CHU, University Hospital Center) of Bogodogo in Ouagadougou, Burkina Faso; One video Colposcopy device and one Cryotherapy unit.

The colposcope is used to detect precancerous cervical lesions, enabling local women to be treated early thus optimizing their treatment efficacy. Over 3K women have been screened since implementation.
